This policy is the Acceptable use and anti-spam section of our Terms of Service, published on its own. It applies to every email sent through Saella.
What spam is
Spam is unwanted bulk or commercial messaging: email to people who opted out, misleading content, or lists that were bought, rented or harvested without permission. Saella is built for relevant, professional outreach, not spam.
As a sender you must
- Contact relevant businesses only, with content specific to the recipient's company and role.
- Use your own lists only with a lawful basis. Never upload bought, rented or scraped lists.
- Be honest: a real sender name, a domain you control, a subject line that matches the content.
- Identify yourself: every email names your company and gives a valid way to contact you, including a postal address.
- Respect opt-outs: never remove the unsubscribe link, and never contact someone again after they opt out - through Saella or any other tool.
- Follow the email and data-protection laws of each recipient's country. You are responsible for knowing and meeting them.
- Send no prohibited content: phishing, malware, illegal goods or services, adult content, gambling, deceptive financial offers, or anything that harasses or discriminates.
What Saella does to protect deliverability
- Authenticates your domain (DKIM, SPF, DMARC) before you can send from it, and keeps checking it.
- Checks content before sending - broken merge tags, a generic greeting going out in bulk.
- Adds an unsubscribe link and a List-Unsubscribe header to every bulk email, as Gmail and Yahoo require; recipients confirm in their own language.
- Checks addresses before sending and skips those that are clearly invalid.
- Keeps a shared suppression list: an address that hard-bounced, reported spam or was refused by our email provider is skipped for every Saella workspace, and is removed from company records.
- Grows each workspace's daily sending allowance with its delivered volume (warm-up) and pauses sending automatically when bounces or complaints pass a safe level - admins get an in-app notice and an email.
Enforcement
We may pause campaigns, limit sending, suspend a workspace or close an account that breaks this section or puts deliverability at risk. Serious or repeated breaches end the account without a refund.
If you received unwanted email sent through Saella, use its unsubscribe link first. To report abuse, email assistant@saella.ai with the full email and its headers; we review every report.
